Rihmasto (Mycelium)

The shade of this hat is dark brown, alive with a touch of lighter brown as natural variation. The surface is vibrant and slightly curly. The wool is allowed to be itself – rugged, warm, and deep.

The felting was done by hand with Marseille soap, warm water, and gentle movements. The work has been allowed to move at its own pace, without haste. The final result cannot be fully predicted, and that is why every hat is unique.

The shape is soft and protective. The uncut brim remains free and lively, like moss growing at the edge of a forest. It gives the hat its own recognisable character.

A light mushroom motif has been felted onto the surface. It is a reminder of mycelium – the invisible network running beneath the ground that connects all living things. Fungi are needed everywhere – they belong to every environment, just as warmth and shelter belong to this hat.

Rihmasto is suited for the sauna and the ice hole, the warmth of a hot tub, and winter forest excursions. It is a hat that carries the spirit of the forest with it.
