Aarni

The hat is deep and dark in colour — like wet bark or autumn forest soil. The base colour breathes: two, even three different shades of brown, with lighter curls rising naturally from the surface. The wool has not been smoothed or tamed. It is allowed to be itself.

Aarni has been hand-felted with Marseille soap, warm water, and without haste. The work has followed the material's own terms — no moulds, no patterns. The result is a structured, protective hat with a softly curved brim. Forest-spirited, steady, one of a kind.

A pale antler motif has been felted into the surface of the hat. It stands out clearly against the brown, almost like a mark. The antlers speak quietly. They are a reminder of the old laws of the forest and the respect that nature deserves. The shape of the hat carries the same message.

Aarni is made for movement: the sauna, the ice hole, the edge of a hot tub, and a winter forest path. It sits exactly where it belongs. This hat is made once. There will never be another one quite like it.
