Kulkija (Wanderer)

The shade of this hat sits between grey and brown – calm and earthy. The surface is vibrant, with the wool's own movement and natural variation. Lighter areas emerge like marks left in the snow by a passing traveller.

The felting was done by hand with Marseille soap, warm water, and gentle movements. The wool was allowed to take shape at its own pace, without haste. Every step has formed through touch and listening.

Light prints have been felted onto the surface of the hat, like a bird's footsteps in snow. They move lightly across the hat, leaving their own direction. The prints are not straight or perfect – they live as nature does.

The shape is protective and slightly taller at the back. A small crown and soft brim give the hat its own character. Kulkija is a hat that carries movement with it – as if someone had walked ahead of you.

Kulkija is suited for the sauna, the ice hole, and the warmth of a hot tub, as well as winter day walks and forest excursions.

Material: 100% organic raw Finnish Landrace wool

Colour: A grey and brown surface with light natural markings

Production: Hand-felted with Marseille soap in Salo, Southwest Finland

Feature: The wool naturally contains some lanolin, which helps repel moisture and keeps the felt soft.

Care: Air out after use. Light hand-cleaning if needed. Do not machine wash.

Lifecycle: Fully natural and biodegradable material – when the time comes, the hat can be composted.
