Apila (Clover)
This hat holds two shades of brown and a hint of grey. The surface is lively and curly, lighter in places, deeper in others. The wool is allowed to be seen as it is – natural and slightly rugged.
The felting was done by hand with Marseille soap, warm water, and gentle movements. The work has progressed by listening to the wool, without haste. The shape rises tall and protective, and the thick structure feels warm and steady.
Light clover flowers have been felted onto the surface of the hat. They rise from the brown base, soft and clear. Clover is one of the most important forage plants – nourishment for livestock and people alike. It carries with it a sense of resilience and vitality.
The tall shape also provides room for more generous amounts of hair worn up. The hat is suited for the sauna, the ice hole, and the warmth of a hot tub, as well as winter forest excursions. Every piece is its own individual, and no two will ever be exactly alike.
