Varpu
Dark as the deep forest floor. The base color is a nearly black dark grey, where flashes of brown appear in the vibrant variation of the surface – the raw, untreated character of the wool itself.
Light-colored wool has been felted into the surface of the hat as part of the structure: meandering lines, branching twigs, droplets, and plant silhouettes. They wind around the hat like a forest path, a riverbed, or a root system beneath the surface. Each line found its place during the felting process itself.
The work is done by hand, using Marseille soap and warm water. With calm movements, without rush. The edges are free and organic.
Varpu accompanies you to the sauna, ice swimming, and winter forest treks. It is a hat you gaze at for a long time.
