Forest sod
As dark as the forest floor after the rain. Kuntta was born from wool that carries with it everything gathered in the field and the herd – silence, time, and nature's own shades.
The base color is nearly black, but not monochromatic. It is alive with dark gray, soft brown, and earthy variations – just as a moss-covered forest floor shifts its tone depending on the angle of the light. Cool and deep.
Running along the table runner is a light stripe like a path or a stream cutting through the moss – a warm brown, a natural contrast to the dark base. Light in the forest is not uniform. Neither is Kuntta.
The felting is done by hand with Marseille soap and warm water, using a calm motion. The wool was listened to: the edges were allowed to come alive, and the shape found itself without a pattern. Raised forms have emerged on the surface – small tufts, moss-like growths, marks left by the forest.
Kuntta is a reminder of the forest floor – that layer one rarely stops to look at. It is suitable for a long table, a windowsill, a shelf, or a wall. For a home where there is space for silence.
